OVERVIEW
Renowned for its verdant landscapes, the Emerald Isle’s mild climate has nurtured an exceptional collection of gardens, from formal estates to intimate private creations.
Created and led by garden historian Mike Turner, this 16-day tour explores 18 of the most exciting gardens across Ireland. Beginning in Belfast, we explore the celebrated landscapes of Northern Ireland before travelling south via the Neolithic wonder of Newgrange to Dublin. From the capital we strike out to Cork and the garden-rich countryside of Ireland’s south-west, before the road home draws us back to Dublin to conclude where the island’s gardening story is told in full.
June is the beginning of summer, when the countryside is at its most beautiful and the gardens are at their peak, and along the way we visit the magnificent Titanic Belfast, sample some of Ireland’s famous whiskey and even have a chance to kiss the Blarney Stone. “The choice of gardens and sites for a tour such as this will always be subjective,” says Mike. “These are gardens that I love, that inspire me, and my hope is that you will love them too.”
