BRIEF ITINERARY

Day 1: Meet in the hotel in the early afternoon, followed by an introductory lecture with your tour leader. Dinner is enjoyed at Pure South Dining overlooking the Yarra River. (D)

Day 2: We begin today with a before-hours tour of the NGV’s French Impressionism exhibition, developed by the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Lunch is enjoyed at the Gallery’s Garden Restaurant, before taking in the NGV’s Kimono exhibition, examining the enduring and influential design lexicon of one of Japan’s most iconic garments. Tonight we take in the MTC’s Mother Play, fresh from its 2024 Broadway triumph starring Sigrid Thornton. (B, L)

Day 3: This morning we take a private tour through the Lyon Housemuseum, a hybrid residence and contemporary art museum located in the leafy Melbourne suburb of Kew. Lunch is then enjoyed in a Fitzroy favourite, before the afternoon is spent at the newly reopened Potter Museum of Art featuring their landmark exhibition 65,000 Years: A Short History of Australian Art. (B, L)

Day 4: We conclude our time in Melbourne at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia, located at Federation Square, where we explore the Martin Grant exhibition. This NGV-exclusive exhibition will celebrate the work of Australian-born contemporary fashion designer Martin Grant, drawing together garments, drawings, paintings, photographs and installations. The tour concludes after our visit, followed by early afternoon departures. (B)
