overview

Renowned for its stunning architecture and world-class museums, Munich ranks among Europe’s most captivating cultural capitals.

From medieval fortresses to Baroque palaces, Neo-Classical grandeur and Art Nouveau elegance, Munich’s rich architectural tapestry tells stories of creativity, resilience – and reinvention. Yet the city’s legacy is not without complexity – as the birthplace of the Nazi movement, it carries a painful history that has been critically addressed. How might a city reconcile its celebrated heritage with the shadows of its past? And what constitutes a true cultural capital?

Join Patrick Bade for an insightful journey into Munich’s architecture, history and the ongoing dialogue between past and present.
