overview

Greece’s Acropolis has undergone numerous preservation efforts, most notably the Parthenon Restoration Project, now entering its third decade.

Centuries of destruction and decay have obscured how these monuments originally appeared in the 5th century BCE. From early repairs to the comprehensive project launched in the 1980s, the work has sparked a complex dialogue between honoring history and embracing modern technology. With access still restricted and completion now in sight, what has this decades-long endeavour achieved – and what lies ahead?

Join Byron Comninos for an insightful look at the restoration journey behind one of the world’s most iconic ancient sites – its challenges, innovations, and future.
